The article discusses a study which examined the effect of the Affordable Medicines Facility--malaria (AMFm) scheme on quality-assured artemisinin-based combination therapies (QAACTs). ACTs were subsidized in several countries including Ghana, Niger, Kenya and Nigeria. Results of the study revealed that subsidizing ACTs can help in improving the prices, availability and market share of QAACTs.
