Islam is a moderate religion in which moderation and balance is maintained in all walks of life. Islam is neither in favor of monasticism (rahbaniyat) nor transgression. Rather, Islam encourages moderation in all aspects of life, verily it appreciates its application in all fields. A study of Islamic teachings on recreation reveals that matters which are not evil in themselves and which do not cause any harm in the observance of Shariah matters are acceptable. There are also various games apart from physical activity, there are other benefits as well. Such as archery, swordsmanship, horse riding, racing, etc. As far as gender discrimination is concerned in this regard, there are incidents in the Sira which make it clear that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not prohibit women in this regard, but he occasionally used to engage with his wives in activities that provided them with opportunities for recreation. Running with Hazrat Ayesha and showing her the spear throwing of the Abyssinians are best examples. The article under review will present the analytical study of Recreation & gender equality in Islam in the context of Sira-e-Taiba [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
