The article offers an overview of the current situation of scientific information regularly produced at university, its conditions of usability and the contributions of technology for best availability andaccessibility. It deals with the current scenario of copyright matters and describes the role of publishing groups. The text also details the importance of online publications and delves into the characteristics and conditions of the Open Access Movement. The relevance of repositories is likewise exposed and there is also a description of the available tools for their development. Finally, the Argentinean scenario in relation to these issues is analyzed and some conclusions are drawn.
