Shortly after the end of the war a building of a student association (Verein deutscher Studenten) was occupied by the U.S. Army and used as a synagogue, with services for displaced persons as well as U.S. military personnel; those are presumably the premises pictured. Two photographs show a plaque dedicated to those who perished, 1933-1945, from the survivors, dated June 24, 1945.
