Moure & Seabra (1962) mentioned that the type of this species was housed at NHMUK, providing information on the data label of provenance. Moure & Seabra’s interpretation can be treated as a valid lectotype designation, according to ICZN (1999) Article number 74.6. The specimen has the following data label: sponsa. Sm Columb.
