I). 10 Brocket 31 On the seventeenth of last month our first team went to Brocket to meet their much talked of basketball team. Because our team is composed of young boys till below (eighteen years of age, they were no match for the heavy and more experienced Brocket team. In suite of the odds against them, our basketeers put up a lively light in trying to check their opponents' smooth team work and basket shooting. They were able to dodge around the towering Brocket players for a field goal every now and then. But those conquering warriors of the north scored their twenty-third victory that evening by defeating us. A return game was to be played on our floor on the twenty-fifth, but Brocket was unable to come. Lawton made arrangements to meet us instead. We think that Brocket could not defeat us on our own floor. 4^ '4. I). S. 1). Hi Lawton V The Lawton high school team made its first appearance on our floor Saturday evening, February 25, thus marking the first contest between the two schools. Tlie visiting team was composed of heavier and more seasoned players, and their accuracy al basket shooting during tlie warm-up period convinced us that we were destined for another defeat unless we could put up a great fight. Lawton soon found themselves up against a stone wall, for they were unable lo penetrate our defense in spite of their snappy passing. As a result, they resorted lo Jong distance shooting, only three attempts taking effect throughout the game. On Hie other hand, the deaf hoys displayed superior team work over their opponents. They always seemed to find some bole in the visitors' line of defense through which they were able to get closet- to their own goal. During the first quarter our players experienced some difficulty in locating Hie basket, largely due to their quick shooting after breaking through Law- ton's defense.
