The ;Ouml;zbek Mosque and Medrese are located in the city of The Old Crimea (Solhat) located on the south east of Crimea. The Mosque (1314) and medrese (1332-33) were constructed in conjunction with each other. The rectangular planned mosque has survived until today upon several various restorations whereas the medrese is in ruins. The mosque located in the North is rectangle shaped with three-naves. With the architectural and ornamental features it has, The Old Crimea ;Ouml;zbek Mosque is one of the rare representatives of the Artifacts from the Seljuk Empire and Period of Beyliks of Anatolia which is located at a very distant location, Crimea. The basilic plan applied in the mosque is often found in the mosques from the Anatolian Seljuk Empire Period in Anatolia. In addition to its plan features, inscriptions were used along with the botanical and geometrical patterns found on its portal and the altar. Botanical patterns composed of palmate and rumis are frequently observed on the portal and the altar. These pattern elements were also used between inscriptions, making it more diverse in terms of application. In addition to the ones in the Old Crimea, similar patterns can also be found in structures in and around Bah;ccedil;esaray. Similarly, the artifacts from The Seljuk Empire and The Period of Beyliks in Anatolia exhibit patterns with common features. The medrese located in the South however was constructed later on. Only some of the structures’ spaces in the North and South remained intact until today. The rectangular planned medrese has an open patio plan with four-iwans. In addition to the north and the south iwans, some walls of the areas adjacent to these iwans as well as a portion of the spacial covering survived until the date. Though the other spaces were demolished down to their foundation, the excavation efforts carried out helped unsurface an approximately one more meter of the ruins during the conservation studies.
