; In May 1940, Loos detainees (in three prisons: the central house, the cell arrest house and the annex for women in the Saint-Bernard colony) have seen the Germans’ irresistible progress when a Belgian lorry stops in the cell prison to discharge his cargo of psychiatric illness. They soon hear windows of their cells grasping the battle of Haubourdin, very close to it. The worst was to happen with the bombings from 26 May to 1 days.
