The campaigns of Hungarians against Western-Europe almost completely finished in the second half of 10th century. The main reason behind this fact was that during the reign of Otto a powerful state was established in the vicinity of the Hungarian Principality, which was able to obstruct, or even to prevent these actions. Therefore, the Hungarian troops were forced to carry out attacks on the East-Balkan, namely against the Bulgarian and the Byzantine Empire. These Hungarians attacks are well known from the Latin and Byzantine sources. However, the Hungarian leaders also njade several attempts to establish peaceful relationship with the Byzantine Empire. In this paper, I present two Muslim sources that report on such attempts. A Muslim author Al-Dahabi mentions that Hungarians fought in Syria as part of the Byzantine army in 954. Another Muslim author, Abu Firas tells us that the Byzantine Empire in 958 made peace with several Western Powers, including the Hungarians.
