The work is divided in eight chapters. After an extensive introduction (under 1), follows (under 2) the integration of the framework decision on the European arrest warrant and the surrender procedure between member states in the legal frame of the third pillar of the European Union. In the next chapter (under 3) the writer focuses his attention in the framework decision on the European arrest warrant itself. After examined the reasons of theoretical demand of actualisation of the law of extradition, it is examined the reasons that led to the adoption of the principle of mutual recognition as the cornerstone of judicial co-operation of member states at the European Council in Tampere and to the adoption of the framework decision on the European arrest warrant in 13.6.2002, as well as the more important later events (the Hage Program, European Constitution, Treaty of Lisbon). The fourth chapter (under 4) is dedicated in the theoretical approach of the principle of mutual recognition of judicial decisions, which constitutes the cornerstone of the European arrest warrant. Mutual recognition, along with the principle of territoriality (or the national regulation) and harmonisation are approached as the three ideal models of managing diversity of legal cultures of the member states. In the next capital (under 5 ) it is analyzed the changes in the traditional principles in extradition (reciprocity, double criminality, rule of speciality, ne bis in idem, prohibition of extradition of nationals, nature of the crime) which the framework decision on the European arrest warrant caused. The sixth part (under 6 ) is dedicated in the transport of the framework decision on the European arrest warrant in some member states, which present particular interest, either because of the careful transport of the framework decision in national law (Austria), or because of the unlucky transport (Italy), or, finally, because of the constitutional obstacles that the application of framework decision caused (Germany, Cyprus, Poland, Czech ...
