This article discusses increasing interest in reading the Qur'an in class VIII MTs Al-Washliyah Kampung Kolam. The problems discussed are 1). How are PAI teachers' efforts in increasing interest in reading the Qur'an at MTs AL-Washliyah, Kampung Kolam, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang 2). What is the impact of the strategy in increasing interest in reading the Qur'an at MTs AL-Washliyah, Kampung Kolam, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang, 3). How is the condition of interest in reading the Koran at MTs AL-Washliyah, Kampung Kolam, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang. The results showed that (1) the condition of interest in reading the Qur'an still needed to be improved. The level of ability in reading the Qur'an is quite good, enthusiastic in reading the Qur'an, however, there are still some students who do not understand the punctuation marks contained in the Qur'an due to lack of desire and lazy to learn. On the grounds that these students have problems and environmental factors as well as external influences (2) PAI teachers' efforts in increasing interest in reading the Qur'an in students are by using strategies such as discussion, memory strengthening and practice in the room. (3) The impact of the PAI teacher's strategy in increasing interest in reading the Koran in class VIII MTs Al-Washliyah, Kampung Kolam, among others, has a positive impact.
