This is the annual newsletter of the New Jersey Envirothon, A Natural Resources Problem Solving Competition for High School Students. The New Jersey Envirothon competition is a one-day event that takes place in May. Teams of high school students prepare throughout the academic year with their advisors, studying soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife and environmental issues under the guidance of conservation partnership staff. Teams are tested on environmental topics through hands on interactive problem-solving at 5 testing stations. The team that best demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of natural resources, as well as teamwork and communication skills, moves on to represent NJ in the Cannon Envirothon competition. This newletter issue features the following articles: Sussex Soil Conservation District Host of 2004 New Jersey Envirothon; 2004 Canon Envirothon; Hopewell Valley Goes to West Virginia; Something's Always Fishy at the Aquatics Station; NJ Envirothon Serves as Stepping Stone for State Resident; 2004 Envirothon Participants; New Jersey School of Conservation. ; Envirothon is sponsored by: NJ Department of Agriculture, NJ State Soil Conservation Committee, NJ Association of Conservation Districts, USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, NJ Conservation District Employees Association, NJ Department of Environmental Protection, Rutgers Cooperative Extension, and NJ Soil Conservation Districts. ; Official Envirothon website: http://nj.nacdnet.org/envirothon/
