في أوربا، ظهرت مهنة الهندسة كنتيجة للديناميكية الداخلية لتحديث المجتمع التي واكبت التطور الاقتصادي و الإنجازات التكنولوجية المتقدمة. في دول المغرب، فإن تأسيس المجموعة الحرفية للمهندسين هو نتيجة لمشاريع التنمية التي وضعتها هذه الدول عند استقلالها. هذا المقال يصف ظهور و تحول مهنة المهندس عبر ثلاثة مراحل في تاريخ الجزائر المعاصر : مرحلة الاستعمار، مرحلة ما بعد الاستقلال، و مرحلة الأزمة. ; In Europe, the profession of engineering emerged as the result of an internal process for the modernization of society that accompanied economic development and technological advances. In the Maghreb, the establishment of a cadre of professional engineers is the result of development projects implemented by these countries following independence. This article traces the emergence and transformation of the engineering profession through three periods of the history of Algeria : the colonial era, the period following independence and the crisis. ; En Europe, le métier d’ingénieur est apparu comme le résultat d’une dynamique interne de modernisation de la société qui a accompagné l’évolution économique et les avancées technologiques. Dans les pays du Maghreb, la constitution du groupe professionnel des ingénieurs est le résultat des projets de développement que ces pays ont mis en œuvre à leur indépendance. Cet article retrace l’émergence et la transformation du métier d’ingénieur à travers trois périodes de l’histoire contemporaine de l’Algérie : l’époque coloniale, celle de la post-indépendance et celle de la crise.
