I focus on the characteristics of MIS-5e and MIS-11 in astronomical forcing, CO2 and climate response at global and regional scales as far as the comparison with other warm intergalcials including MIS-1, 9 and 19 is concerned. The climate response is obtained through transient model simulations covering the whole interglacial period. Through the comparison with other interglacials, unique features in precession and obliquity as well as in regional climate response are found in MIS-5e and MIS-11, which might help to understand why they appear as the two warmest interglacials during the past 800ka.
