The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) of Vietnam has recently updated and issued technical guidelines for rice cultivation in main rice bowls of the country, namely the Mekong River Delta, Red River Delta, North Central Coast and South Central Coast. These guidelines focus on reducing inputs, improving efficiency, reducing GHG emissions and adapting to climate change for rice production. The key components of the guidelines are appropriate land preparation (including laser land levelling), new advanced varieties, revised crop calendar using Climate-Smart Maps and Adaptation Plan (CS-MAP), and improved water management, nutrient and pest management, harvesting and postharvest handlings. This paper reviewed and synchronized information of the good cultivation practices corresponding to the four main Deltas of Vietnam.
