Inscription German in Hebrew letters (not Yiddish) ; Digital Image ; Born in Pressburg, Austria-Hungary (now Bratislava, Czechoslovakia) on January 30, 1871, Arnold (also known as Aron) Taenzer received his doctorate at the University of Berlin. He was an army chaplain during World War I and established kitchens in Poland for the Jewish population. He served as rabbi in Hohenems and Meran, Austria, and in Goeppingen, where he died on March 19, 1937.
