Chapter 20 of the book "Lancaster: The Biography" is presented. It relates the uses of the Lancaster planes by the Royal Air Force (RAF) near the end of World War II in 1945. The RAF fitted blocks of food into the bomb bays to drop them over German-occupied Holland. The planes successfully flew at a dangerous low altitude to make the drops. On another mission, the Lancaster planes transported British prisoners of war back to their homeland. The RAF also attempted to bomb the headquarters of German leader Adolf Hitler in Bavaria.
