A preprint abstract from biorxiv.org discusses the function of the protein kinase CDK2 in fish. The study found that CDK2 negatively regulates the expression of interferon (IFN), an antiviral cytokine, in fish. CDK2 was found to bind and degrade TBK1, resulting in reduced IFN expression.
