A recent study conducted at Hung Vuong Hospital in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, explored the effectiveness of spermatid injection techniques, such as round spermatid injection (ROSI) and elongating/elongated spermatid injection (ELSI), in treating infertility in men with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA). Azoospermia is a condition where men have no sperm in their ejaculate, and NOA is the most severe form of male infertility. The study found that ROSI and ELSI can be considered alternative methods of infertility treatment when spermatozoa are unavailable. However, the fertilization and pregnancy rates were lower with ROSI compared to ELSI and spermatozoa injection (ICSI). [Extracted from the article]
