This is the second article in a series of six articles examining and assessing the radio waves propaganda situation prior to and, to some extent, during World War II. 772*s will be followed by an article on Nazi Germany's propaganda broadcasts beamed at India, another on Subhas Chandra Bose and the Japanese propaganda perpetrated on British India, next on Axis propaganda aimed towards north-western India, especially on, and exploiting the then aggrauating situation uis-a-vis the Hurs in Sind and the Pashtun tribes in the North-West Frontier Prouince of British India. The last article will be on the British counterblast to Axis propaganda, a comprehensive broad spectrum strategy that amalgamated retaliation as well as diffusion tactics combining both electronic and print media, censorship, personal and physical intervention by ICS district officers, as well as those in the federal and provincial secretariats.
