This article focuses on the intentional nature of human motor activity. A human being is capable to react to each stimulus, connected with a biological need, in a differentiated manner, not only in accordance with the objective situation, but also in accordance with the aims he sets himself in advance, in a conscious manner, setting himself against nature and other people with whom he coexists and works. For man the mastering of motoric space therefore is a process that constantly starts from scratch. Wandering through forests and steppes, climbing from valleys onto mountains, swimming and sailing, man constantly has to confront his motor abilities with the obstacles of space, he encounters constantly mew forms of movement, so far unknown, to him, which he perfects with the help of exercises. The historical result of this human exploration of space has been the human ability to undertake intentional motor activity and in this manner to attain the a priori set up goal. Thus, human motor activity is something new in nature. It is marked by consciousness, its open, unhampered aspect and rational thinking.
