The article examines the issues facing the foreign policy of the Australian government. It relates the ways by which terrorism influenced Australian foreign policy. According to public opinion polls, many Australians believe that the decision to go to war in Iraq has not made Australians more safer from terrorism. Prime Minister John Howard is facing challenges in dealing with the Australian policy toward the Iraq War. An overview of Australian support and troop commitment for the war on terror in Afghanistan is provided.
