This article presents information on a study related to concepts and evidence of long-term maintenance of health-related physical activity. According to the author, health-related physical activity involves efforts in terms of intensity, duration and regularity. It also requires some planning and effort from the participant. Its integration into the every day life-style is not that easy. They further state that the long-term maintenance of health-related physical activity is a different phenomenon from the initiation and short-term maintenance of health-related physical activity. It involves the automatization and routinization of the behavior and linking it to the social reality.
