A recent study conducted at the Egyptian Russian University in Cairo aimed to determine the effect of various clinical and genetic factors on the efficacy and toxicity of warfarin in Egyptian patients with autoimmune diseases. The study included 150 patients from Kasr Aleiny Hospital, Cairo University, and analyzed factors such as age, sex, diagnoses, genotypes, warfarin-drug interactions, and comorbidities. The results showed that all the studied factors had a significant impact on the clinical outcomes of warfarin. The study concluded that awareness of these factors is crucial for assessing warfarin efficacy and toxicity in individual patients, and further research is needed in other specialties.
