Maintaining and promoting the well-being of social and health care educators is increasingly significant due to the growing challenges in work management and ageing of the workforce. The purpose of this study was to describe the occupational well-being and promoting factors of social and health care educators using a national cross-sectional study that was implemented in the autumn of 2020 during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Research data was collected using the questionnaire nationwide from social and health care educators (n=552). In the questionnaire, occupational well-being comprises four areas: 1) workers' resources and work, 2) working conditions, 3) professional competence, and 4) work community. The research data were analysed statistically. The social and health care educators assessed their occupational well-being to be at a higher level compared to that of their working community. Educators with at most five years of work experience had the most positive assessments of the occupational well-being in their work community. Educators aged 60 and over had the lowest perceptions of their occupational well-being. Remote work, the marital or cohabitation status of the educators and having underaged children were positively associated with the experienced occupational well-being. Based on the educators' assessments, professional competence was at the highest and workers' resources and work at the lowest level. The obtained knowledge can be utilised in the promotion of the occupational well-being of educators, human resources administration and health promotion professionals in social and health care organisations.
