Based on data from the archival funds of the Naval Museum in Varna (VNM) and private collections, the article presents the results of an historical analysis of personal academic documents issued to graduates of the Practical Fishermen’s School (PFS) in the period 1921 to 1933. The application of the method of historical typology has established a total of three types of document emissions, the status of some of which were changed after the end of World War II, thus granting their holders the rights of secondary education graduates. The appearance and contents of these types of documents, the continuity between the different emissions, and their value as a source for the historical science are analyzed in accordance with the methodology of the auxiliary historical discipline “Attestatology.” [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
