Sintered (1 − x)BiKTiO- xBa(FeNb)TiO [(1 − x)BKT- xBFNT] piezoelectric ceramics have been fabricated by conventional annealing at 1000°C to 1050°C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed that the 0.9BKT-0.1BFNT ceramic sintered at 1030°C showed high transition temperature of T = 514°C due to presence of BiTiO in solid solution. Although the P- E ferroelectric loop was not yet saturated, the remanent polarization and coercive electric field of the 0.9BKT-0.1BFNT showed good values of P = 18.5 μC/cm and E = 4.3 kV/cm, respectively. The piezoelectric parameters of the ceramic included planar-mode electromechanical coupling factor of k = 0.17 and mechanical quality factor of Q = 145, larger than the values of 0.17 and 57, respectively, obtained for BKT ceramic.
