The article discusses the implications of aberration as a human problem and examines why human nature is associated with questions of gender and sexuality. It outlines the impact of materialism in relation to 18th-century and 19th-century body and subjectivity perceptions. It explores the 19th-century conceptions of nature as a series of forms modified by one another from evolution theory, whether in naturalist Jean-Baptiste's version or in naturalist Charles Darwin's model of perfectibility. Moreover, it stresses the importance of gender configurations as sensitivity becomes a desirable human characteristic in terms of material development.
