The article examines the controversy surrounding an exhibition of photographs that is comprised of images taken in Paris, France, by photographer André Zucca, while the city was under German occupation during World War II in 1943. Zucca took the photographs while being employed by the Nazi propaganda publication "L'Illustration," and the photos that make up the exhibition are colorful images of Parisians happily going about their daily lives. The article examines the debate surrounding how much Parisians really suffered during the war.
