The article presents a lexical analysis of the types of behavior regarded by the Warlpiri people of central Australia as morally good and bad. It discusses several Warlpiri terms that match the words good and bad as well as examples of good and bad behavior in Warlpiri language. It compares the Warlpiri moral values with those of the Gidjingarli people of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. It concludes that values represent necessary conditions for the health and survival of a human society.
