Zugriff:
The article explores the history of sexuality during the American Civil War and explains two versions of homosexuality that make meaning of the war, which are male-male intimacy and identity and deviant sexuality. It examines Civil War novels that depicted disunion between male romantic friendship to make sense of Confederate failure, as well as homoeroticism to make points about U.S. politics. It analyzes theories on the perversion of African American male sexuality.
