This article focuses on how guerillas die in war. Many people believe that Rhodesia, struggling to maintain minority rule in Africa, used chemical and biological weapons against African guerilla armies in the liberation war. The war began with sporadic guerilla attacks shortly after Rhodesia declared its renegade independence in 1965 and by the late 1970s pitted two African guerilla armies, representing two exiled parties opposed to each other, against the Rhodesian security forces. The Rhodesian army consisted of white and black regiments, in which Africans outnumbered whites.
