The article discusses whether the U.S. war against Iraq can transform Iraq into a democracy. Main reasons behind the war were internal U.S. pressure, oil problem, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and democracy. The author suggests that internal pressure and difficulties in the U.S. pushed it toward war against Iraq. The U.S. administration have successfully driven Saddam Hussein out of power in Iraq. But the U.S. failure to find WMD raises questions over intentions of the U.S. The author suggests that democracy cannot be imposed from outside. The present scenario suggests that through this war the international legal framework has been disturbed.
