The article offers a look at a solar oven project of Abdoulaye Touré, a Mékhé native, promoting the use of solar ovens in Mekhe, Senegal. It mentions that the project involved 88 households of members of the women's group Femmes de Ndiop. Based on an evaluation conducted by Melissa Zgola from Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) and the University Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) interns, solar ovens have reduced the use of butane gas, firewood and charcoal that result to emission cuts by more then 40%.
