Water is a vital element to ensure the survival of all living beings and guarantee medium- and long-term economic development. Sewage pollution is a growing threat to people and marine life and represents the world's largest percentage of coastal pollution. Given this, we have proposed this research, which is sewage treatment by sludge-activated sludge in the case of Oued Reghaïa (Algiers-Algeria), for which we have desalinated this water in the Reghaia wastewater treatment plant (municipality of Reghaïa-Algiers), which is based on intensive biological treatment with activated sludge, to evaluate the performance and efficiency of this station in the de-pollution of water, for which we analyzed the physicochemical quality of raw and purified wastewater. This study shows the difference between raw and treated water, where we notice a significant reduction in pollutants in wastewater treated by activated sludge, and confirms the power and performance of the Reghaïa wastewater treatment plant (Algiers-Algeria) in the biological decontamination of wastewater. So, it is essential and necessary to make treatment plants in Algeria's territory to desalinate wastewater and reuse it in different fields such as agriculture (irrigation) and industries.
